Why I Want To Be Your Chadds Ford Supervisor

I want to be a Chadds Ford Supervisor for a clear and very simple reason: I love our home town and believe we’re at a critical tipping point. We can choose the short-sighted direction of our neighbors to the north and south but if we do, there’s no going back. Or, we can fight to sustain Chadds Ford and create something even better: a truly Walkable, Driveable and Livable treasure on the Brandywine.

To do that, I need your help, your support, and your VOTE on November 3rd!

Protecting Chadds Ford

The signs of trouble surround us: Concord Township is paving our preservations, overloading Rt. 202 and otherwise putting the interests of developers ahead of us! Places like Springfield and Exton are already lost causes. We too are at a tipping point and everything we know and love about Chadds Ford – the things that distinguish us from our neighbors – is at stake. But there’s still time to preserve what we have… and even make it even better.

Here’s My Vision:

Walkable

Let’s make Chadds Ford Walkable: Bold and exciting plans are in place to convert the intersection of Rt. 100 and Rt 1 into a pedestrian and small business-friendly historic corridor that can become a destination for residents and visitors alike. Let’s finalize and execute those plans aggressively and take advantage of the enormous untapped potential of that area. We’ll slow down traffic, attract more small businesses and create the one thing that’s missing from Chadds Ford – a small yet vibrant place for the community to gather. Will it be easy? No. But if we all work together there is nothing this community cannot achieve.

Driveable

Let’s ensure it’s Drivable: We are not just figuratively at a cross-roads, we are literally at one… the intersection of Rt 1 and 202! Concordville is spiraling out of control with unmanageable development and monstrous, unsightly signs. The corner of Ridge and 202 is on the cusp of development that will turn one of the last corners of natural beauty into “more of the same.” What a loss that will be. The Wegman’s shopping area, while understandably exciting for many, threatens to reek havoc on an already impassible and dangerous section of road. If elected, I will push for a temporary moratorium on further Rt. 202 development in Chadds Ford until we stare down that cross-roads and figure out who we really are and want to be as a township. I for one, don’t like the direction we are currently heading!

Livable

And, most importantly, let’s keep it Livable. Livable because we sustain and take advantage of the natural beauty that surrounds us and makes us the envy of our neighbors. Livable because we maintain a sensible balance between development and open space. Livable because we create a vibrant community that gathers frequently in a unique and historic place. And livable because we have a township government that represents ALL of us and listens to ALL voices.

Walkable, Driveable, Livable
Chadds Ford

I believe in my heart that a Walkable, Driveable and Livable Chadds Ford is achievable; but it can’t happen without your help. It will require a committed, pragmatic, non-partisan Board of Supervisors. It will require the help and participation of all of us. And it will demand sound judgment and bold leadership. With over 20 years of experience as a community volunteer, private lawyer and environmental, health & safety corporate executive, I am well-positioned to help us achieve these goals.
Thank you for your support and PLEASE come out to vote on November 3rd!
